Lagos Diverts Traffic on Marine Bridge Repairs for 80 Days

The Lagos State Government has announced a traffic diversion on Marine Bridge to facilitate repair work, which is expected to last for over 80 days.

According to the Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi on Sunday, the repair work will commence on December 4, 2024, and end on February 25, 2025.

During this period, motorists are advised to use alternative routes to ease traffic flow.

For motorists traveling from Apapa to Lagos Island, they can go through Costain Roundabout to link Eko Bridge and connect to Lagos Island.

Alternatively, they can link Ijora 7up through Marine Bridge to access the ramp to connect Ijora Causeway Access Road.

Motorists traveling from Apapa to Ijora Causeway/Iddo are advised to link Costain Roundabout to access Eko Bridge and connect Ijora Causeway to access the ramp through the U-turn to link Iddo.

Alternatively, they can link Ijora 7up through Marine Bridge to access the ramp to link Ijora Causeway Access Road.

The statement read, “Motorists from Apapa inward Lagos Island are advised to go through Costain roundabout to link Eko Bridge and connect Lagos Island for their desired destinations.

“Alternatively, from Apapa, motorists may link Ijora 7up through Marine Bridge to access the ramp to connect Ijora Causeway Access Road through Ijora Oloye to Ijora Causeway to link Eko Bridge and connect Lagos Island for their desired destinations.

“Motorists from Apapa inward Ijora Causeway/Iddo are advised to link Costain Roundabout to access Eko Bridge and connect Ijora Causeway to access the ramp through the U-turn on to link Iddo for their desired destinations.

“Alternatively, from Apapa, motorists can also link Ijora 7up through Marine Bridge to access the ramp to link Ijora Causeway Access Road through Ijora Oloye to connect Ijora Causeway to Iddo for their desired destinations.”

Osiyemi appealed to motorists to be patient as the diversion is part of the traffic management plans for the rehabilitation works on the asphalt pavement of the road section by the Federal Ministry of Works.
