Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has joined the global movement to combat Gender-Based Violence (GBV).
The state government has launched a 16-day intensive awareness campaign to raise awareness and promote a culture of respect and equality.
Governor Radda emphasized the state’s commitment to protecting women and girls, asserting that every woman deserves to live free from violence and discrimination.
The government’s policy framework is designed to ensure the safety, dignity, and human rights of all women and girls in the state.
The 16-day campaign, which aligns with the United Nations’ global initiative, will involve a range of activities, including awareness campaigns, community outreach programs, and support services for survivors of GBV.
The State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hajia Hadiza Yar’adua, highlighted the importance of a multifaceted approach to address the complex issue of gender-based violence.
