ICPC Commences Tracking of N41b Projects in Kano

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has initiated a comprehensive tracking exercise of 106 constituency and executive projects valued at ₦41 billion across Kano State.

The Kano State Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner, Barr. Ibrahim Garba, revealed that the initiative aims to ensure the faithful implementation of these projects, which are primarily focused on sectors such as education, health, agriculture, water, rural roads, power, and youth empowerment.

Garba emphasized the importance of community involvement in monitoring project execution. He urged citizens to report any irregularities or deviations from project specifications to the ICPC.

To achieve the objectives of the tracking exercise, the ICPC plans to collaborate with key stakeholders, including the media, Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS), Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), and civil society organizations.

By closely monitoring these projects, the ICPC aims to curb corruption, prevent wastage, and ensure that public funds are utilized effectively to benefit the people of Kano State.
