20 Soldiers Feared Kill in Fresh Borno Attack

A deadly attack on a military base in Karito, Borno State, has claimed the lives of at least 20 soldiers.

The assault, carried out by suspected terrorists over the weekend, involved the use of various weapons and resulted in significant casualties.

While the exact number of casualties remains unconfirmed, sources indicate that approximately 20 soldiers were killed, and several others sustained injuries.

The terrorists also managed to seize military vehicles and heavy machine guns before withdrawing from the area.

Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and condemned the attack as a stark reminder of the ongoing threat posed by insurgents in the region.

Despite the setback, Governor Zulum reaffirmed the government’s commitment to restoring peace and security and pledged to continue with resettlement and development programs.
