NEMA Distributes Relief to Delta Displaced Persons

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has provided relief materials to displaced persons at the Ewu Camp in Delta State.

 The victims, originally from Okuama town, were forced from their homes following an attack by unidentified gunmen who destroyed infrastructure.

NEMA’s relief distribution, announced on Friday on it  X handle, aimed to alleviate the hardships of pre-registered households in the camp, offering essential food and non-food items.

Director General , (NEMA), Mrs. Zubaida Umar expressed condolences, saying, “We recognise the hardship these individuals face and are committed to providing the necessary support during this difficult time.”

The initiative was conducted in collaboration with Delta State’s Ministry for the Bureau for Special Duties.

Key attendees included Karo Ovemeso, Director of the Delta State Emergency Management Agency, and Austin Emadaku, Secretary of the IDPs Management Committee, who were present during the distribution. Ohuafaria Austin, the camp’s Commandant, also participated in ensuring the smooth delivery of aid.
