PSC Chair Mourns Late Army Chief, General Lagbaja

The Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), DIG Hashimu Argungu (rtd) has expressed shock and sadness over the passing of Chief of Army Staff, General Taoreed Lagbaja, who died in Lagos after a brief illness.

In a statement made available  to Africa Health Report on Thursday, the commission while describing General Lagbaja as a brave soldier,  Argungu praised his significant contributions to the fight against insurgency and his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s efforts to combat banditry and terrorism.

“General Lagbaja left indelible foot mark on the sands of the nation’s security architecture,” Argungu said, extending his condolences to President Tinubu, the Nigerian Army, and the deceased’s family.

He prayed for God to receive General Lagbaja’s soul in paradise and comfort his loved ones.

He also wished General Olufemi Oluyede, Lagbaja’s successor, wisdom and character to build upon his predecessor’s legacy.

General Oluyede was recently appointed acting Chief of Army Staff by President Tinubu.
