The Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has announced that it has disbursed a total of N11,047,793,949.80 in loans to students across tertiary institutions in the country.
A statement on the NELFUND’s official X page on Wednesday revealed that 98 institutions, spanning across all geopolitical zones, are now benefiting from the student loan program.
The initiative has already provided financial support to 105,844 students, empowering them to pursue their educational goals.
The fund aims to reduce the financial barriers faced by students in Nigerian higher education institutions, ensuring that more young people have the opportunity to access quality education and achieve their academic aspirations.
By providing these loans, NELFUND is playing a crucial role in making education more accessible and affordable for students from diverse backgrounds, helping them to continue their studies without being held back by financial constraints.
The development marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts to enhance Nigeria’s education system and create a more inclusive learning environment for all students.
