Telecom Industry Faces Major Setbacks as NCC Urges Urgent Action to Protect Infrastructure

In a recent development, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has sounded the alarm on critical threats facing Nigeria’s telecom infrastructure, citing issues such as rampant fiber cuts, vandalism, and theft.

The Commission revealed on its official X handle on Monday that these challenges are stalling network expansion and deteriorating service quality nationwide, leaving millions at risk of poor connectivity.

The NCC’s call underscores the need for collaboration between government, private sector, and local communities to protect the telecommunications network, which is essential for both daily life and economic activity.

Stressing this collective responsibility, the NCC appealed for increased security measures to ensure uninterrupted service and network stability across the country.

“Let’s work together to safeguard our connectivity!” urged the NCC.”
