Varsity Gets Nod for Nursing Programme

The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria has officially approved the nursing program at KolaDaisi University in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Adeniyi Olatunbosun disclosed this during a conference on Friday, highlighting that 156 students would be awarded degrees, including 20 First Class honors.

Olatunbosun stated, “The National Universities Commission had earlier given its approval for the commencement of courses in the Faculty of Basic Medical Science.”

He added that the council approved an annual intake of 100 students for the Department of Nursing Science, reflecting the university’s commitment to quality education.

The Vice Chancellor expressed gratitude for the support received from local security forces, stating, “We are grateful for the constant support of Amotekun and the government of Oyo State for ensuring round-the-clock security coverage of the university.”

 He also acknowledged the role of the Nigerian Military’s Second Mechanised Division in providing assistance.

Despite the numerous challenges faced by private higher institutions in Nigeria, Olatunbosun emphasised KolaDaisi University’s dedication to maintaining global best practices. “We are moving forward on an impressive note, sustaining the joy of quality education,” he affirmed.
