The Minister of Defence, Badaru Abubukar has directed the troops of the Operation of Fansar Yamma to arrest the notorious bandits leaders Bello Turji immediately.

He gave the directive while addressing the troops at the One Brigade Headquarters in Gusau, the Zamfara State Capital.

Mr Badaru Abubukar explained that, President Bola Tinubu in the past few months had seen some levels of improvement in the operation against terrorists in the region, stressing that, but the challenges are still there.

He pointed out that, the President has urged him to thank the troops for the ongoing operation effort and asked them to do more to end insecurity in the Northwest region.

The Minster also told the troops that, Mr President is ready to provide all what they need to end insecurity in the region.

“I had some reassurances from the commander officer and was pleased, sure that we would reach the goal. Are you ready to finish with them? Are you ready to end it? Please get me Turji.”

During the visit, the Minister was received by the Commander, joint Taskforce Northwest Operation Fansar Yamma Major General Oluyinka Sowele, the Deputy Governor of Zamfara state Mani Malam Mumuni among other dignitaries.

He is expected to receive briefings on the recent military operation against bandits and kidnappers in Zamfara and other neighboring states.

Badaru Abubukar is also expected to meet with Zamfara state Governor Dauda Lawal at the Government House in Gusau.

The visit of the Defence minister to Zamfara is coming barely 48 hours after the Zamfara state Governor Dauda Lawal and his Katsina state counterpart Dikko Radda visited him and the National security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu in Abuja on the security challenges affecting the development of their states.

The move is aimed at bringing the activities of armed bandits and kidnappers in communities and highways to an end.
