Jigawa: Hisbah Board Declares Suspended Commissioner Wanted

The Kano State Hisbah Board has issued a warrant for the arrest of suspended Jigawa Commissioner of Special Duties, Auwal Sankara.

The move comes after Sankara failed to appear before the board for a scheduled reconciliation meeting on Monday.

Commander General of the Hisbah Board, Sheikh Aminu Daurawa, made the announcement during a press briefing.

He stated that Sankara had violated his bail conditions by not honoring the invitation, despite being granted bail on the condition that he would cooperate with the board.

Daurawa explained that the board had been mediating a dispute between Sankara and Nasiru Bulama, who share two children together.

The aim was to facilitate a peaceful resolution to the matter. However, with Sankara’s refusal to attend the reconciliation meeting, the board decided to pursue legal action.

The Hisbah boss recalled a previous incident involving Sankara and a woman who were arrested together.

During the arrest, the woman allegedly injured five Hisbah personnel while attempting to flee in her car.

Daurawa emphasized that the board has video evidence and other proof of the incident.

Despite repeated attempts to contact Sankara, including personal phone calls, the commissioner failed to appear.

As a result, the Hisbah Board has declared him wanted and has instructed its operatives to apprehend him wherever he may be found.

Nasiru Bulama, the complainant in the case, expressed his disappointment with Sankara’s actions.

He had agreed to the reconciliation for the sake of his children but now feels that the matter must be resolved through the legal system.
