The National Agricultural Development Fund (NADFund) has kicked off a three-day training and empowerment program for youths and women in Ekiti State, Nigeria.

This initiative is part of the Federal Government’s ongoing efforts to create employment opportunities and alleviate poverty among young people and women.

In partnership with Amij Procurement Limited, the program aims to equip 52 beneficiaries with skills and knowledge in fish production, processing, and value addition.

Honourable Rufus Adeniyi Ojuawo, representing Ekiti South-West/Ikere/Ise/Orun federal constituency, facilitated the training, emphasizing its potential to transform livelihoods, provide sustainable income, and foster entrepreneurship.

Chairman of Amij Procurement Limited, Honourable Tokunbo Ayekoti, urged participants to remain attentive and utilize the acquired knowledge effectively.

Honourable Ojuawo pledged his continued support, stressing the importance of applying the learned skills to boost Ekiti State’s agricultural sector and contribute to Nigeria’s growth.

Upon completing the training, participants will receive essential tools, including take-off grants, movable fish tanks, fingerlings, and equipment for proper fish farming. The program’s beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the Federal Government for its commitment to improving livelihoods and reducing poverty.

Similar initiatives, such as collaborations with organizations like Mastercard Foundation, aim to create job opportunities for Nigerian youths.
