The Ogun State Government has announced plans to recruit an additional 1,000 Ogun TEACh interns to fill existing vacancies in public schools across the state.
This exercise is part of the Ogun State Teaching Experience Acquisition Channel, a special intervention scheme designed to address the shortage of teachers in public primary, secondary, and technical colleges.
According to the state commissioner for Education Science and Technology, Prof Abayomi Arigbabu, the recruitment exercise will be coordinated by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, in conjunction with the State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), and the Ogun State Technical and Vocational Education Board (OGSTVEB).
To be eligible, applicants must have a National Certificate in Education or a Bachelor’s degree in Education with a Second Class Lower in relevant subjects.
Those from other disciplines can apply if they have a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education from a reputable university. Technical colleges require applicants with a degree in Technical Education, Engineering, or a related field.
Interested applicants can submit their applications through the Ogun State Job Portal from October 16 to November 6, 2024. Successful applicants will benefit from deployment to Local Government Areas in need, a monthly stipend for two years, and assessment for permanent appointment after two years based on factors such as expertise, commitment, and willingness to work wherever posted.
This recruitment drive is the final batch of the 5,000 interns promised by Governor Dapo Abiodun, with the first 4,000 interns already being offered permanent appointments and working as permanent teachers in public schools across the state.
