Steel Development Ministry Set to Equip Youth for Careers in Metals Sector

In a bid to strengthen Nigeria’s industrial sector, the Ministry of Steel Development has introduced a specialized bootcamp aimed at empowering Nigerian youths with advanced technical skills.

The program, which focuses on welding, industrial foundry, metallurgy, and related fields, is expected to bolster job creation and entrepreneurship within the country’s metals industry.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Chris Osa Isokpunwu, highlighted the critical role of technical expertise in fostering industrial development. “This training will equip participants with vital practical skills, as well as provide them with the necessary resources to either launch or grow their businesses,” he said in a statement shared on the Ministry’s X handle.

The ministry states that the initiative targets Nigerian citizens aged 18 to 40 who are eager to pursue careers in the metals sector. During a month-long program, participants will experience intensive training, gain mentorship from industry experts, and obtain business support to prepare them for successful careers as professionals or entrepreneurs.

The application deadline is set for October 30, 2024. There are no fees for submissions, which can be made via a Google form link or the official website of the Ministry.
