Outrage as EFCC Arrests 29 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Abuja, Can’t Nab Ex-Kogi Gov

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC  have come under fire as the public condemned the arrest of 29 suspected internet fraudsters by its Abuja Zonal Directorate on Wednesday.

The residents of the FCT expressed rage over the development and knocked the commission for being unable to arrest ex-governor Yahaya Bello, whom it declared wanted for N82 billion corruption allegations.

The Nigerian public charged the EFCC to end the “drama”, and get serious about arresting the man who walked into its facility in company of the current governor of the state, Usam Ododo.

EFCC said the suspectes were arrested at several locations in the Gwagwalada area of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT following credible intelligence about their suspected involvement in internet fraud.

32 phones of different types were recovered  from them.

“The suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded”, Head,  Media & Publicity, Dele Oyewale, said in a statement.
