The Lagos State Ministry of Transportation has impounded 28 vehicles for violating traffic regulations at the Berger Bus Stop along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
According to the Commissioner in charge of the ministry, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the vehicles were seized for illegally converting a designated layby into a makeshift garage.
The enforcement exercise was carried out in collaboration with the state’s task force for regular traffic law enforcement. Osiyemi explained that the goal of the operation was to ensure smooth vehicular movement and maintain public order on Lagos roads.
“The 28 vehicles were impounded at the Berger Bus Stop along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway (outbound Lagos) for illegally converting designated layby into a makeshift garage,” he said.
Osiyemi emphasized the ministry’s commitment to upholding traffic regulations and maintaining order on the state’s roads.
He warned that the enforcement would continue to prevent congestion and ensure that Lagos roads remain free-flowing.
The commissioner’s statement was made public through Mrs. Bolanle Ogunlola, Deputy Director of Public Affairs at the ministry.
The ministry’s actions aim to promote a safer and more organized transportation system in Lagos State.
