DHQ Issues Stern Warning on Illegal Use of Military Stickers, Insignias

The  Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has cautioned persons using its stickers without authorization to stop, re-emphasizing that the ban on the illegal use of military stickers is still in place.

The military frowns at “displaying of  any form of Service insignia by unauthorized persons especially on vehicles”.

The DHQ in a statement on Thursday stated that it has observed the  non-adherence to the ban by some unauthorized individuals despite several warnings on the need to desist from such unlawful acts.

In the statement by its Director Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, the DHQ  therefore advises those still contravening the ban to stop immediately as the military and Nigeria Police Force have been directed to arrest and prosecute defaulters. This decision was necessitated by the rampant cases of use of military tickers  and insignias to evade security checks.
