A trending video purportedly showing the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the September 21 Edo State election, Monday Okpebholo, making a gaffe that “we’re going to provide you with insecurity” at a campaign rally in Ovia North Local Government Area has been debunked as fake.
Africa Health Report AHR, findings show that the video might have been doctored to misrepresent Okpebholo’s statement.
The original video, which was taken out of context, showed Okpebholo promising to provide security for the people of Edo State, not “insecurity” as claimed in the manipulated video.
The APC campaign team has denied the allegations, stating that the video was edited to tarnish Okpebholo’s reputation. Senator Adams Oshiomhole, who was present at the rally, has also confirmed that the video was doctored.
