Dangote Sets to Distribute Petrol to Filling Stations

Alhaji Aliko Dangote, the Chairman of the Dangote Group, has announced that the Dangote Refinery is set to roll out its first batch of Premium Motor Spirit, otherwise known as petrol, for local consumption.

“Our PMS (Premium Motor Spirit) can be in filling stations within the next 48 hours depending on NNPCL,” he said.

“As soon as it is finalised, which he (Tinubu) is pushing, once we finish with NNPC, it can be today, it can be tomorrow, we are ready to roll into the market,” he added.

Dangote made the announcement on Tuesday while briefing the media at the Dangote Refinery in the Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos State.

He thanked President Bola Tinubu for making the dream of local petrol refining possible.

He also thanked Nigerians for their moral support and the media for their unbiased reportage of the Dangote Refinery’s progress from inception to the present time.

He explained that local refining of the product would save the country from the recurring crisis of sourcing foreign exchange for importation.

Businessman, Aliko Dangote, has revealed that petrol produced from his 650,000 barrels per day refining facility will hit filling stations in the next 48 hours as modalities with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited are formalised.

Asked to speak on the pricing of the product from his refinery, Dangote said, “It is an arrangement which is designed and approved by the Federal Executive Council led by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Last December, Dangote, Africa’s leading industrialist, commenced operations at his $20bn facility sited in Lagos with 350,000 barrels a day.(Agency Report)
