NECO Registrar Elected West Africa Representative at AEAA

Registrar and Chief Executive of the National Examinations Council (NECO), Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi has been elected to the Executive Council of the Association For Educational Assessment in Africa (AEAA).

Prof. Wushishi will represent West Africa on the 8-member council, as announced at the 40th AEAA Conference held from August 19-23, 2024, at the Century City Conference Centre and Hotels, Cape Town, South Africa.

The AEAA, established in 1982, aims to foster collaboration among African examination and assessment bodies, focusing on harmonising educational assessments across the continent.

This year’s conference, themed “Reimaging Education Assessment In The Age Of Multiple Dimension Of Learning In A Global Society,” attracted over 21 primary members along with various public and private institutions globally.

Azeez Sani, Acting Director of the Directorate of Information and Public Relations of NECO, stated, “Prof. Wushishi’s election is a significant milestone for NECO and highlights our commitment to enhancing educational assessment standards in Africa.”
