Troops Eliminate Terrorists’ Commander, 26 Combatants in Borno

The Nigerian military, on Monday reported that its troops of Operation Hadin kai have killed a notorious terrorists commander, Abu Rijab alongside 26 of his combatants in Bula Daloye, Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.

The operation also resulted in the recovery of several weapons and ammunition, some of which are considered crucial for the ongoing and future counter-terrorism efforts.

Director of Media Operations, DMO, Major General Edward Buba, in a statement highlighted the significance of the operation, stating, “The neutralization of Abu Rijab and his fighters marks a major victory in our fight against terrorism. The recovered weapons and ammunition will enhance our operational capabilities and intelligence gathering.”

Buba assured that the military’s efforts are far from over, with a commitment to bringing other terrorist commanders to justice. “Ongoing operations are focused on eradicating terrorist threats. We are determined to hold these aggressors accountable and achieve lasting peace,” Buba added.

The successful operation underscores the military’s resolve to dismantle terrorist networks in the region and restore security. The Defense Headquarters remains committed to the fight against terrorism, emphasizing that those who pose threats to citizens will face severe consequences.
