Over 20 medical and dental students, along with a House Officer, were kidnapped in Benue State while traveling to the Federation of Catholic Medical and Dental Students (FECAMDS) annual convention in Enugu.
The victims, from the University of Maiduguri and University of Jos, were ambushed by gunmen around 5:30 p.m. in Otukpo, according to the police.
Benue State Police Command spokesperson, SP Catherine Anene who confirmed the incident on Friday said, “Yes, the report of kidnapping is true. The report was received around 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and an investigation is ongoing.”
