UK Violence Surge: Nigeria Issues Travel Advice to Citizens

The Nigerian Federal Government has issued a travel advisory for the UK following the recent violence, including the tragic deaths of three young girls at a Taylor Swift-themed event.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement signed by Spokesperson Amb. Eche Abu-Obe, on Monday, described the situation as having reached “dangerous proportions,” citing attacks on law enforcement and infrastructure damage.

Citizens are urged to exercise heightened vigilance: steer clear of political protests, avoid crowded areas, and remain self-aware.

Recent disturbances, fueled by far-right groups and anti-immigrant sentiment, have intensified since the girls’ deaths in Southport, which also injured five other children.

Police have clarified that the stabbing, which was not terrorism-related, involved a UK-born suspect. The violence has exacerbated anti-Muslim rhetoric, adding to the volatile climate in the UK.
