Tinubu Approves N70,000 Minimum Wage for Nigerian Workers

President Bola Tinubu has approved a N70,000 minimum wage for Nigerian workers.

This move comes with a promise to review the national minimum wage law every three years.

The Special Adviser on information and strategy to president Tinubu, Mr. Bayo Onanuga who disclosed this on Thursday at his official X handle, states that the president during a meeting with leaders of TUC and NLC in Abuja, also pledged to support the private sector and sub-nationals in meeting this wage requirement.

He wrote, “The Labour leaders applauded President Tinubu for the fatherly gesture as the President also promised to use his discretionary powers meet the demands of university unions demanding unpaid 4 months salaries.”
