A total of 1,376,391 candidates have registered for the on-going 2024 2024 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) Internal, according to the National Examinations Council (NECO).
The Registrar/Chief Executive of NECO, Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, on Wednesday, expressed satisfaction with the examination’s conduct, stating that reports from across the nation indicated smooth progress.
Prof. Wushishi highlighted the decline in examination malpractice due to innovative measures put in place.
He emphasised the importance of hard work for success, stating, “there is no short cut to success.” The Registrar personally monitored the examination in several states to ensure its integrity.
NECO’s reach extends beyond Nigeria, with the examination being held in countries like Togo, Benin Republic, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Prof. Wushishi noted that this expansion reflects the global recognition of NECO Certificates.
The 2024 NECO SSCE, which began on June 19th and will end on July 25th, covers 76 subjects.
