A gender-based Non-Governmental Organisation, (NGO), Gender Strategy Advancement International, (GSAI) is partnering with Africa Health Report (AHR) to advance women’s development and related health issues.

Speaking on the objectives of the collaboration during a courtesy visit to the corporate head office of AHR in Abuja on Monday, July 1st, the programs officer, Miss Grace Ubeh, emphasizes that through this partnership women in the unserved places are given a voice while stating that the focus of GSAI is on mental health for women and they currently working to produce a movie titled, “Mara”

“We have a cluster of women with whom we interact directly, we want to see how we can help these women so, we want to partner with you because we outlined that through partnership, strong pillars in the health area, we can come through for women in the rural area” she states.

AHR Editor, Hon. John Nwokocha, who welcomed the guests with other staff members, said the collaboration is strategic, stressing that AHR is a unique news platform to project and promote women’s rights and development. The Editor commended the GSAI team for the initiative.

Nwokocha also used the occasion to emphasise that AHR is a leading Health and Development news outfit serving the entire African continent and beyond, with an office in the US.

He further encouraged the GSAI to position Nigerian women for the elusive leadership roles. Nwokocha challenged the women to get involved in mainstream leadership, and shun fringe roles. He urges women and girl children to avoid making themselves vulnerable for ‘Use and Dump’, in movies and entertainment, politics, and business. “Close the gap in health and political leaderships”, the Editor advised.
