The Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy Ohanenye, has vehemently denied allegations of misappropriation of funds leveled against her by the House of Representatives.
In a statement released by her Media Aide, Musa Abdulrahaman, on Thursday, the Minister labeled the accusations as false, biased, and lacking in truth.
In response to the allegations, Abdulrahaman revealed that the Minister has taken legal action against Hon. Kafilat Ogbara for libel and defamation, filing a lawsuit (Suit No.E 500/2024).
Mrs. Ohanenye has chosen to refrain from further comments on the matter and is prepared to present her case in court.
The Minister emphasised her commitment to utilizing resources judiciously for the benefit of Nigerian women and children. She expressed zero tolerance for financial recklessness and vowed to ensure that every training initiative is followed by sustainable empowerment.
“As far as I am the Minister of Women Affairs, there will be no room for misappropriation of resources. Every action taken will be in the best interest of Nigerian women and children,” the Minister stated.
