The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun has urged a holistic approach to combat persistent security challenges in the North West in synergy with the ‘New Security Agenda of the United Nations which emphasizes engaging the cooperation of communities, institutions in order to foster peace in affected regions.
This was confirmed in a press statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi on Monday during the North West Peace, Security Summit in Kastina state where the ex-president, Muhammadu Buhari and Vice-president, Shettima were also in attendance.
The IGP and Vice President Shettima advocate for all participants such as local policing, better Standard Operation procedures (SOP) involving all security agencies to formulate strategies that will ensure the general security, safety and well-being of the citizens and residents in the North West region.
