Just In: Senate Rejects Proposal for New Jets for Tinubu, Shettima

The Nigerian Senate, on Tuesday, refuted claims that the 10th Senate is suggesting the procurement of new aircraft for President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.

Speaking in Maiduguri, Senate President, Godswill Akpabio dismissed the report as false, emphasizing that the Senate’s focus is on legislative support for President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Akpabio said, “I want to dispel the rumour that you are hearing that the Senate President said he will buy a new plane for the President and his Vice, irrespective of the fact that Nigerians are hungry or whatever. I never said that.” He attributed the misinformation to propagandists and fifth columnists.

He urged Nigerians to pray for the government and assured them that the collaboration between Tinubu and Shettima would bring prosperity. Akpabio also commended the improved security situation in Borno state, crediting President Tinubu’s efforts.

“I am happy to see that peace has returned to Borno, as a result of the hard work of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. I want to tell the good people of Borno to continue to support the administration,” Akpabio added
