Ekiti’s 5th Rank in MPI Despite Approved Budget Allocation Shocking

The Multinational Poverty Index (MPI) report by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) shows Ekiti State was ranked 5th with a population of 1.31 million people. This development has caused shocks among the populace.

According to data from Open state, Ekiti State approved budget is over 104, 381,864,189.76 and the world bank records show that Nigeria has over 133 million poor people.

The Multinational Poverty Index is a widely recognized metric for measuring poverty, beyond income, measures various dimensions such as health, education and living standards.
