The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has issued a notice stating that customers in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, and its environs are required to clear any outstanding electricity bills within 72 hours to prevent their services from being disconnected.

In a statement released on Friday and provided to Africa Health Report (AHR), Victor Ojelabi, the acting Managing Director of AEDC, stressed the importance of timely payment of bills by customers. He highlighted that this is essential for the company to enhance and upkeep its infrastructure, ensuring continuous service delivery to the community.

“The timely payment of electricity bills remains crucial for the continued operation and enhancement of AEDC’s infrastructure, which is essential for delivering uninterrupted service to the community,” Ojelabi said.

He warned that customers who fail to settle their outstanding bills by the deadline of Monday, June 3, 2024, will face disconnection. Ojelabi reiterated AEDC’s commitment to providing efficient and reliable service, underscoring that prompt bill payments are necessary to maintain service continuity.

“Customers who are yet to settle their outstanding bills within the next 72 hours will face disconnection of their electricity supply,” Ojelabi added.
