Tertiary Institution Governing Councils’ Launch Postponed- FG

The Federal Government has postponed the inauguration and workshop of the tertiary institutions governing councils slated for Thursday, 30th and Friday 31st of May 2024

The postponement was due the presidential directives said Minister of Education spokeswoman, Folasade Boriowo in a statement on Monday.

The Federal Government has previously announced the commencement and workshop of tertiary institutions governing council to commence Thursday and Friday.

The Presidential directives emphasized that the postponement is to ensure that the nominations reflect the Federal Character of the country, as some states got just one nomination while others got many.

The President, directing a complete review and immediate feedback.

“President Tinubu is committed to ensuring strict compliance with the principle of federal character as entrenched in the constitution. The review will also take into consideration the national spread and ensure every part of the country is adequately represented,” the presidential directive had said.
