The National Examinations Council (NECO) has issued a statement denying the extension of the closing date for the 2024 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) Internal Registration.
According to Mr. Azeez Sani, the Acting Director of the Directorate of Information and Digital Communication of NECO, the registration, which began on December 18, 2023, will close on June 3, 2024.
Sani also clarified that late registration, which incurs an additional fee, will be open from June 4 to June 10, 2024.
He urged candidates, school principals, commandants, state ministries of education, and other stakeholders to disregard any social media posts claiming an extension of the registration period to June 20, 2024.
In addition, the 2024 SSCE Internal examination is scheduled to commence on June 19, 2024, and conclude on July 26, 2024. Candidates will be assessed in 76 subjects during the examination.
Sani emphasised the importance of adhering to the official registration dates and urged all concerned parties to rely on official communications from NECO. He stated, “We urge all candidates, school principals, and other stakeholders to rely only on the information provided by the Council through its official communication channels.”.
