JAMB Releases Additional UTME Results, Disclaims Fictitious Letter

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released an additional 36,540 UTME results, bringing the total released to 1,879,437.

This comes after the Board had earlier withheld some results for further investigation.

Dr. Fabian Benjamin, a spokesperson for JAMB, in a statement sent to Africa Health Report on Tuesday stated in response to a fictitious letter circulating on social media, that the Board disapproved of the letter and emphasised that the 2024 UTME results are intact and have not been compromised.

Benjamin, stated, “The letter is, therefore, from those who wish to destroy the integrity of the Board, by compromising its unassailable operational processes to mislead hapless candidates with the sole aim of extorting them.”

The Board also addressed concerns about low ‘cut-off marks’ and urged private institutions to take responsibility for their submitted minimum admissible scores.

JAMB also urged religious organizations to refrain from making false representations to the government for selfish ends.

Regarding the ongoing investigation into examination misconduct, JAMB stated that those found to be involved are still undergoing scrutiny, and the Board will review CCTV footage from all accredited centers to ascertain culpability.

JAMB while assuring that its findings from the investigation will be published, reiterated the importance of being cautious about misleading information not linked to the Board and urged the public to be vigilant.
