Workers’ Day: Abbas Encourages Workers to Seek Patriotism

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas has hailed all Nigerian workers for their immense contribution to the growth and development to the country while encouraging them to seek Patriotism

This is confirmed in a message titled; 2024 Workers’ Day Edition and signed by the public speaker of the house, Musa Abdullahi Krishi on 1st May 2024.

Tajudeen celebrates all workers while stating that labour is critical to nation building and charging the two umbrella bodies of workers in Nigeria, the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress, with prioritising negotiations and dialogue with the government on any issue affecting them, noting that jaw-jaw is better than war-war.

“Charging workers with patriotism and dedication to their fatherland, the Speaker assured them of better welfare under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu”. The statement partly reads.

Speaker Abbas also expressed the readiness of the House and the National Assembly by extension to work with the Executive arm of the government on legislation that will improve the welfare and productivity of workers, create more jobs and reduce unemployment rates.
