Corruption: Court Orders Arrest of Former DG of National Institute of Legislative Studies

A High Court sitting in Apo Abuja has ordered the arrest of the former Director General (DG) of the National Institution of Legislative and Democratic Studies, Professor Aisha Hamalai

This is confirmed and signed in a statement by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) spokesperson, Mr. Demola Bakare on Thursday in Abuja

Hon. Justice C.O Oba issued a warrant on Monday 22nd of April 2024 for the immediate arrest of the professor for her failure to appear in Court after four summons

Counsel to the Professor,  Olayemi Afolayan informed the court that his client was sick but Justice Oba  however ruled that the ICPC can arrest the professor and produce her in Court on the next adjourned date, 9th September 2024.
