The Nigerian Navy has recently taken delivery of a cutting-edge Offshore Survey Vessel (OSV) in Apapa, Lagos.
The vessel, known as OSV 115, was designed and manufactured by a French company and is specifically built for scientific hydrographic and oceanographic missions.
Equipped with advanced technology, including medium/shallow water multi-beam echo-sounders and other essential survey equipment, the OSV 115 is poised to conduct comprehensive surveys in shallow and medium waters.
The Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla in a statement signed by the Naval spokesperson, Adams-Aliu, Ogalla expressed his enthusiasm about the new addition, stating, “The acquisition of this state-of-the-art vessel marks a significant milestone for the Nigerian Navy, enhancing our capabilities in conducting vital surveys and research missions.”.
