JUST IN: IMN Accuses Police, US of Plot to Disrupt Protest

In less than a day after the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) announced a planned protest in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the organization has accused the Nigeria Police and the United States of plotting to disturb their International Quds Day procession in the country.

The Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), also known as Shiites and led by Sheikh Ibraheem Ya’qoub El-Zakzaky, also accused the United States of trying to prevent worldwide backing for the oppressed Palestinian.

In a statement on Friday, Prof. Dauda Nalado from the Resource Forum of the IMN highlighted that the International Quds Day is observed globally, not just in Nigeria, with participation from countries such as the USA, Britain, France, and Israel.

The US Embassy in Nigeria had cautioned its citizens living in the country to be vigilant and adopt security precautions in response to an upcoming countrywide protest organized by the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, also known as Shiites.

Additionally, the FCT Police Command in Abuja assured residents of sufficient security during and after the period.
