A bus accident in South Africa’s Limpopo province resulted in the deaths of a minimum of 45 individuals and one person being seriously injured.
The transport department revealed in a statement that the bus was carrying Easter pilgrims from Botswana, a landlocked country in Southern Africa, to Moria, a town situated in Limpopo.
The Department also announced that the sole survivor of the accident, an 8-year-old child, was receiving medical care at a nearby hospital.
“Some victims were so badly burned that they could not be identified, while others were found trapped in the wreckage or scattered around the accident site.
According to a statement from the office of South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, he extended his sympathies to Botswana and promised assistance to the country.
