President Bola Tinubu, who will turn 72 on Friday, March 29, 2024, has cautioned his well-wishers not to bother celebrating him. The president enjoins them not to place goodwill messages in newspapers and on radio and television. The president further explained that he won’t be celebrating his birthday this year due to the difficult circumstances facing the country. He stressed that this day symbolizes an important milestone in his role as a leader and politician
This was contained in a statement by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, on Sunday.
According to the statement, Tinubu, as the leader of our nation, will not be hosting a birthday event this year due to the current challenging circumstances.
He also requests that his associates and well-wishers refrain from organizing any celebrations in his honor.
He encourages friends and associates who want to place goodwill advertorials to instead donate the money to charity organizations in his name.
“The President is grateful for the bravery shown by the military in rescuing abducted children in Kuriga, Kaduna State, and Sokoto State. He will seize the occasion of his birthday to contemplate and recommit to the goal of constructing a stronger, safer, more prosperous, and unified Nigeria.”
