Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti has announced a series of appointments across various offices in the state, including the appointment of Dr. Kalu U. Kalu as the Executive Secretary of Primary Healthcare. The governor also appointed Dr. Chimezie Okwuonu, as the CMD of the Specialist/Diagnostic Centre in Umuahia, to lead the health care sector of the state.
Other appointments, according to a press release from the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Kazie Uko, on Monday involve key offices such as the state primary healthcare, Abia State Polytechnic, and the Diaspora Commission.
Additionally, Prof. Ijeoma Nduka is appointed as CMD of ABSUTH, while Dr. N.O.E. Kamanu takes on the role of CMD at the General Hospital in Aba.
Dr. Odochi Azubuike has been appointed as the CEO of the Health Management Board, with Dr. Ngozi Azodoh and Mrs. Nkolika Cleopatra Ubani serving as Special Advisers and SSA, Legal, respectively.
In the education sector, the appointments include the formation of the Governing Council for Abia State Polytechnic in Aba, with Stanley Egege appointed as Chairman and Dr. Okoro Christopher Kalu as Rector.
Similarly, Prof. Mba O. Okoronkwo was announced as the Chairman of the Governing Council for Abia State College of Education Technical in Arochukwu.
The diaspora community also receives attention with the establishment of the Abians in Diaspora Commission, chaired by Alwell Okey Agbara, with notable members including Prof. Ndubuisi Ekekwe and Engnr. Bob Ibeneme.
