The Police have reiterated their dedication to ensuring security during Ramadan and emphasized the significance of respecting religious practices, cultural traditions, and promoting tolerance, understanding, and unity within the diverse society.
In a statement in Abuja on Monday, the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, stated that during the commencement of Ramadan, Egbetokun extended greetings to all Muslims and assured them of their safety.
The Nigeria Police Force sends heartfelt greetings to all Muslim Ummah in the country during the Ramadan season, a significant time for reflection, spiritual development, and unity among millions of Muslims globally.
The statement read, “The Nigeria Police has restated its dedication to safeguarding the safety and security of all citizens during this sacred time. The institution acknowledges the significance of honoring religious customs and cultural heritage and strives to foster tolerance, understanding, and cohesion in our diverse society.
“The Inspector General of Police urged the Muslim community to adopt the values of kindness, charity, and pardon that characterize Ramadan.
He encouraged everyone to come together, assist each other, promote unity, and develop closer relationships and collaboration during the sacred month and beyond.
The Inspector-General of Police encouraged the public to adopt community policing and called on Nigerians to assist the NPF in preserving peace and order during Ramadan.
He also advised Muslims to value the blessings of Ramadan and work towards improving the lives of others.
