Just In: Flood Blocks Road in Lagos

Floods have blocked some parts of the Command Area in the Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State causing residents and passersby stranded along with their vehicles.

The flood on Tuesday also left a major bridge submerged by floodwaters.

Images and footage from the National Emergency Management Agency, obtained by Africa Health Report, (AHR) depicted residents facing difficulties while navigating the route during their daily activities.

The South-West public relations officer for NEMA, Ibrahim Farinloye, verified that the authorities are actively working to rescue individuals who are stuck due to the flooding in the Command Area.

Farinloye advised residents to steer clear of Command and surrounding areas and opt for alternative routes.

NEMA, along with the Fire Service and Police, are currently engaged in efforts to evacuate the trapped victims.
