The Federal High Court Abuja has adjourned a case brought before it by the Independence Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) on the trial of Cyril Ndifon, the Dean of Calabar State University (UNICAL), and his lawyer Barrister Sunny Anyanwu who has been facing charges since January 8th.
Mrs. Azuka, ICPC spokesperson affirmed this in a press statement on the 14th of February stating that the case has been adjourned the trial of the suspended UNICAL dean for the adoption of written addresses.
The case was tried by Justice James Omotoshoat Federal High Court Abuja where Ndifon was tried for sexual misconduct and perverse justice contrary to sections 8, 18, and 19 of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Act 2000 and Section 182 of Penal Code Caption 532 Laws of Federal Capital Territory, Abuja 2006.
Following adjournment, on Wednesday, Dr. Osuobeni Ekobi Akponimisingha brought Prosecution After four witnesses (PW4) were crossed-examined by Joe Agi (SAN) and dismissed from the box as no case of written submission.
The counsel of ICPC, Akponimisngha didn’t oppose this development thus, the trial was adjourned by the presiding Judge J.K Omotosho to 27th of February for the adoption of written addresses of no case submission.
