The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) said it has successfully intercepted a shipment of drugs concealed within a Milo tin, which was intended for transportation to Europe.
The agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, who disclosed this on Sunday, issued a warning against accepting parcels with unknown content, emphasising the importance of vigilance in preventing illicit substances from entering circulation.
According to Babafemi, the suspect had attempted to transport the illegal substance with the help of two friends. In a separate incident, a viral video showed a Lagos Airport worker trying to slip drugs into someone’s bag.
Babafemi revealed that the worker, who had been apprehended at Lagos Airport, along with the mastermind residing in Ghana, is now in NDLEA custody.
In a social media post, Babafemi stated, “The mastermind of the Lagos airport incident, who was hiding in Ghana, and the individual seen in the viral airport video, are now in NDLEA custody,” he wrote.
