Amarachi Ugochukwu, a bank marketer in Nigeria, tragically committed suicide at her workplace in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State.
The news of her death was confirmed by Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Police Spokesperson, on Thursday morning.
Ugochukwu locked herself in the bank’s restroom, leaving behind a handwritten note, expressing her overwhelming sense of despair due to the misfortunes she had endured in life.
In the poignant message, she cited the challenging economic economic conditions, expressing hopelessness and stating, “Nothing is working in my life. The future doesn’t seem bright at all, I can’t bear the pain anymore.”
The note also contained heartfelt apologies to her loved ones, including her parents, familial relatives, and close friends.
Ugochukwu wished to convey her remorse for her decision and the pain it would undoubtedly cause them. “I’m sorry mum, I’m sorry Dad, I’m sorry meme, Okwe, Nazor, Chuchu, Funny,” she wrote.
The incident has brought attention to the importance of mental health and well-being. It serves as a reminder for society to be vigilant and supportive of those facing challenging circumstances.
