President Bola Tinubu received an unexpected reception from traders at Idumota market as they greeted him with shouts of “ebi pa wa oo,” meaning we are hungry, as he passed by.
A viral video circulating on social media on Saturday shows the traders lined up by the sides of the street moments before the convoy of the president passed through the market. When he approached them, rather than welcome him with cheers, they kept shouting “we are hungry.”
The president’s long convoy was heavily guarded, and some people could be heard in video saying he already knew they were not going to welcome him, hence the heavy security.
