NGO Urges Governor Soludo to Sponsor Surgery for Baby With Hole in the Heart

A non-governmental Organisation, Women Arise for Change Initiative (WACI), has called on Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State to come to the aid of an eight month old baby, Chizeterem Ezenwata, who is suffering from a hole in the heart.
The Secretary of the NGO in Anambra State, Pastor Chinyere Amah, made the appeal when members of the NGO visited the family at their home in Onitsha, Anambra, on Christmas Day.
The mother of the baby, Mrs  Oluchukwu Ezenwata, who said she had exhausted all finances trying to save her baby’s life, added with uncontrollable tears that since the baby was born, they have taken her to various hospitals in Lagos with no results.
“Recently they referred us to Irene Okwosa Specialist Hospital, Oraifite in Ekwusigo Local Government Area in Anambra State and they billed N8.5 million to perform heart surgery which the family cannot afford,” Pastor Amah stated, while the mother of the child appealed that her “beloved daughter should not be allowed to die because of paucity of funds.”
Amah appealed to the Soludos, whom he said by birth and inclination are passionate about the welfare of children and women, and all people of goodwill to help wipe away tears and predicaments of the family.
“There no doubt in our minds that his Excellency Professor Charles Soludo and her Excellency, Dr Nonye Soludo, have been doing it before and will continue to do it for the interest and welfare of humanity,” the NGO scribe added.
