Professor Ademola Popoola of the University of Ilorin has cautioned men about the dangers of maintaining an erection for more than 30 minutes during sexual intercourse.
Speaking at the University’s 250th inaugural lecture titled: ‘All May Pee in Peace,’ Popoola emphasised that such prolonged erections are purposeless and harmful, and individuals experiencing them should seek immediate medical attention.
He highlighted the risk of penile fractures and breaks associated with prolonged erections, particularly on the right side of the penis.
In addition to discussing sexual health, Popoola also addressed issues related to urination, identifying potential challenges and urging individuals to seek medical care for any abnormal symptoms.
He also emphasised the importance of comprehensive care for patients with urological cancers and called on the Federal Government to allocate research funding to address genitourinary problems, including kidney failure.
