The Minister of Information, Idris Mohammed, has tendered an apology over the naira scarcity being experienced across the country, saying it is not deliberate.

He said this in a briefing on achievements of the Tinubu administration in Abuja on Friday.

“The government is aware that there is this cry by Nigerians of the scarcity of naira notes and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is already working in that direction and new notes will be produced.”

“It is not a deliberate policy to stifle Nigerians or take baira out of Nigerians like during the Emiefele days,” he added.

He assured that with the plans the government has put in place, 2024 will be a better year that 2023.
